ESXi 7.0 failed boot with CRC Error on state.tgz file

Hi,

Got ESXi failing to boot complaining about CRC on state.tgz (displaying compressed MD5 while decompressed MD5 is full zero). I saw that some not exact same posts did a "repair", but when I try to boot with install usb key I have only 3 choices among which "Upgrade ESXi" or "Install ESXi" both preserving datastore (which is of course what I want) should I select "Install" or "Upgrade" to have equivalent of Repair ? many thanks

for future similar case: I did a reinstall of same release, then ESXi boots again. Had to reregister my VMs (not an issue as lab env). upgraded to latest 7.0.3c
