ESXi 7.0 compatibility with AMD B350/B550 chipsets and certain NVMe?

Hello,

I am looking to buy a hardware configuration that will suite my home server needs. I know that this is not listed on VMware Compatibility lists.

I am looking for theese two motherboards:

- Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming

- Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO

Your feedback will be welcome, if you have same or simmilar motherboards with theese chipsets.

If anyone tried:

- VMware ESXi 7.0 or earlier on theese chipsets?

- Are there any issues like compatibility wuth SATA controllers or crashing (PSOD)?

Also, did anyone tried these SSDs with VMware ESXi 7.0:

- Transcend 220S TS1TMTE220S
- Samsung 970 EVO

Thank you.

Hi,
I started playing with ESXi 7.0 on Asus ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING updated to latest firmware and AGESA, Ryzen 1600X, 12GB RAM, 2 SSDs (120G each), Radeon Vega Frontier Edition.
Installed with no issues. Also is running great so far (a week overall). Most of mobo seems to be recognized, minus, the IPMI/hardware sensors. It reports a few devices as capable of Passthrough but none for SR-IOV.
