ESXi 7.0 U2 - Automated Kickstart Installation: Copy files from USB to Local Datastore

Hello everybody,

I'm currently working on an automated ESXi-Installation (Version 7.0 Update 2) via a kickstart file. One of the tasks will be to copy some files (OVA-Templates and other stuff) from the installation medium (USB) to the local datastore for later use.

Some side notes:
- Host doesn't have access to the internet
- There is no NFS/NAS-Storage on the network (so can't pre-store the files there)
- The installation should end as a "plug-and-play" solution for "everybody" to be easy to use

Now to my question:
In one of the forums I read that the installation medium is still connected at the %post section. However, at this time I cannot determine exactly how to access the drive in order to copy the files mentioned above...

Due to the fact that there is no connection  to the "world wide web" and other restrictions, I have to transfer the files directly from the USB-Drive to the local datastore on the ESXi.

Can somebody help me to get this working?

With best regards
Rentos
