Looking for some ideas on an issue I am having: My server is a Dell R430 with an H730P RAID controller. Disks are 2x 120GB SSDs. I also have an HBA330 card for debugging.
ESXi 7.0 cannot detect more than one SSD when using the H730P in HBA mode or the HBA330. It /can/ detect two disks when configured as 2x RAID0 HDDs using the H730P in RAID controller mode.
I have been told that performance of the RAID0 HDDs is not as good as using HBA modes. Disk type (HDD vs. SSD) seems to have a massive impact on ESXi's behavior. Can anyone share ideas or workarounds to get ESXi to recognize both SSDs while in HBA mode?
