ESXi 6i Download manager

Hi All,

I have just been trying to get the download manager setup.  The Hosts are on a non-routable ip space, I am running the download manager on a separate server.

I am sFTP the files over to the update manager.

All that seems to work OK.  But when I try to update a host, it says it can't download the patch.  I have made the share that it sit on W/R for everyone and it still is the same.

Any ideas?

ESX6..0.0

I've seen this when the ESXi host cannot resolve the hostname of the update manager server. Can you SSH to one of the hosts and ping the hostname of the VUM server to ensure that it resolves?

You could also try: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=20073...

This is the error I get:

vSphere Update Manager patch store.  Check

the network connectivity and firewall setup,

and check esxupdate logs for details.

Thank you so much!!  The link you posted got me to the right place. We don't use DNS on this part of our network so I had to select the IP.
