I am trying to upgrade a test server (Supermicro 6015P-TR) to ESXi 5 from ESXi 4.1 and the reboot fails with it hanging at "Initializing ACPI ...". If I reset the IPMI card it passes this point. The upgrade then completed. But each reboot presents the same problem.
Anyone else successfully using ESXi on Supermicro 6015P-tr or X7DBP boards with a IPMI controller? Wondering if this could be a problem with the IPMI card or if it is more widespread.
Motherboard BIOS and IPMI firmware are latest versions. Have tried cold booting, reset BIOS defaults, changing drive from AHCI to legacy compatible.
Thoughts?
