ESXi 5 network managment reconfigure remotly

Hello,

I'v no KVM or physical acces to an ESXi 5 and I would like to know what is the best way to reconfigure ip/mask/gateway of network managment remotly ?

Hi lvln

You can access the DCUI console of the host using an SSH session then change the host management IP/SubnetMask/Gateway, then restart management services to take effect.

1. Access DCUI via SSH session:

VMware Knowledge Base

2. Change IP, subnet mask or gateway through DCUI:

Hi lvln

The best way is to use out-of-band management tools.

For example, if the server is HPE-branded, you can use ilo (integrated lights-out) to connect to the server even if it is offline. It is simply a network port on the server which you connect to your network switch for management purposes.

It allows you to check server health, remote console, power on/off, ...

This depends on the hardware vendor. for example IBM servers uses IMM port.

Thank you for your answer, but this is the aim of my question. I've no external solution for this : no kvm, ilo, ipmi, ...  or whatever

And I am lookin to the excli way or vsphere
