ESXi 5.5u2 serialNumber.reflectHost, smbios.reflectHost not working in OS X

In the past I have used serialNumber.reflectHost = "TRUE" and smbios.reflectHost = "TRUE" in the configuration file.  These settings do not seem to be recognized after updating to ESXi 5.5u2.  Same OS X Mavericks VM.

I am having this issue as well, although I had not tried it prior to updating to ESXi 5.5u2.

Specifically I have a MacMini6,1 and while the hw.model.reflectHost seems to be working now, the serialNumber is not.

This may be preventing me from being able to install iMovie in the virtual machine (I get an error about video card not supported, but I already tried upping video memory and that made no difference).

Does anyone know a solution to this issue?

Ouch.  Yes, this is broken in vSphere 5.5U2.  I will file a bug for this immediately.  I'm not aware of any workarounds, I'm afraid.
