Hello All - I'm quite new to VMWare and have run into an issue. I was attempting to upgrade an older Supermicro Server (custom built by the IT guy I replaced) from ESXi 4.1 to 5.5 when the screen displayed specific devices that needed 3rd party drivers. I found 3 out of 4 that I know will work with ESXi 5.5 as I checked the VMWare Hardware Compatibility List and the manufacturers. The only one I'm not sure of is the built in Intel ICH10 4 Port SATA IDE Controller. Here is the info: 8086:3a20:15d9:0600
I called both Supermicro and Intel tech support but can't see to get any real answers.
Is there anyone out there with the same controller who was able to get ESXi 5.5 installed? If so, did you find a newer driver or use the existing driver?
