ESXi 5.5 Templates

Hello-

I just upgraded a stand alone host to 5.5.  I then used winscp to copy the a template from a 5.0 host to the the 5.5 host's datastore.  Now, when I try to register the template and add it to inventory I am getting the error, "The operation is not supported on the object."  Can you move templates from 5.0 to 5.5 or do I need to convert it to a vm and use Veeam to move it over?

Follow up:  I am an idiot.  Just realized templates only work if the host is being managed by a vCenter.  Added the host to vCenter and the operation worked fine....

Along with template, even clone operation is managed by vCenter.
