ESXi 5.1 host disconnected after running the Rescan datastore ?

Hi All,

Can anyone here please help me with the troubleshooting of the strange behaviour of my newly migrated ESXi 5.1 u1 host.

I'm trying to rescan the datastore in this one particular ESXi host only, but somehow it failed miserably with the host left being disconnected ?

I have connected to the SSH console of the host and issued the restart command to restart the management agent but it hangs in the SSH console, the ESXi host is not responding and still disconnected ?

~ # services.sh restart

Hi Albert
did you ever got this resolved ?
I am having similar problems - one LUN can not be mounted - even getting the partitiontable with partedUtil results in an I/O error.

I also get the message "VobUserLib_Init failed with -1" when trying to restart te services.
All hosts in my Cluster were disconnected from VCenter and on most of the hosts I cant even log in via ssh.
Once I found the bad LUN I had to remove it from the storage - once that was done I could slowly get back access to the ESXi hosts.
Now I am trying to recover the LUN ...

I do not support Workstation 16 at this time ...

Hi Continuum,

It seems that my old array was not fully supported as per this article: VMware Front Experience: Updated: What's the deal with EMC CX arrays not supporting VAAI with vSpher... the old array was EMC CX3-20f while the new LUN is on VNX 5500 is working at the moment with no issue.
