ESXi 5.1, Verizon FiOS, PFSense, and MAC Address Cloning

Hi there,

I recently got a server that I am running ESXi 5.1 on.  So far it has given me no trouble in everything but getting virtualized PFSense to connect to my WAN and acquire an IP Address.  While on most consumer routers, I simply clone the MAC address of the included Verizon router and release/renew DHCP, it seems on ESXi I cannot do that in PFSense or in the configuration of the Virtual Machine.  While I have the WAN nic on it's own Network, and have labeled it WAN, and has full control over that NIC, it still won't pass through the MAC Address.  Is there anyway to setup MAC Address Cloning in VMWare so it clones at the switch level instead of at the VM level?  If not, does anyone have any recommendations on how to make this work?

Thanks.

i think you can call verizon and have them just unbind your MAC to your existing WAN NIC.  I had PFSense and FIOS working great using esxi.  I've since moved to Sophos UTM for my virtual router/firewall.
