ESXi 5.1 RS2BL080 RWC2 - Servers could not be found

Can anyone assist please.  When I selected the ESXi Host server in the list of Servers displayed in  RWC2 and then attempted to log in using the ESXi Host’s administrator  account (e.g. root), the “RAID Web Console 2 - 12.08.03.02” log in  attempt fails with “Login failed: Exception while login!”

Running VMware ESXi 5.1 using Intel RS2BL080 RAID card (RAID 6 using 7  2TB SATA Hitachi disk drives, and RWC2 v12 installed in a Windows XP  host.

Raid Web Console 2  12.08.03.02                      ir3_Windows_RWC2_v12_08_03_02

RS2BL080  raid card bios updated with  MR49.rom to 24th August 2012  (this  process was difficult, I had first to update to  IR3_2108_SASHWR_FWPKG-v12.12.0-0036 and only then I could update the  BIOS to RAID  RS2BL080\IR3_2108SASHWR_FWPKG-v12.12.0-0139)

On ESXi patches ESXi510-201210001.zip & ESXi510-201212001.zip have been installed

I have disabled the firewall in the Windows XP guest to ensure that its firewall is not blocking the connection.

On VMware ESXi Host, the firewall is set to allow CIM Server.

CIM Server (port 5988) is running as is the CIM Secure Server (port 5989).

Searching the Intel web site for "vmware SMIS VIB"

The search returns two links;

RAID management utility for VMWare ESXi* 5
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22062&lang=eng&wapkw=vmware+smis+vib+...

After this SMIS VIB file is installed in  VMWare ESXi* 5.* , Intel(R) RAID Web Console 2 at client end is able to remotely manage MegaSAS RAID array under VMWare ESXi* 5.*.

For more details of installing SMIS, refer to the VMware* ESXi 5.0 installation and Intel(R) RAID Web Console 2 tips and tricks.

I downloaded the “RAID management utility for VMWare ESXi* 5 ” which was a file called “ir3_Vmware_ESXi5_SMIS_v00.32.V0.02.zip”, extracted the contents and then installed the SMIS VIB “vmware-esx-provider-lsiprovider.vib” using the following technique;
1)    Enabled “SSH” in the ESXi 5.1 host ( in the “Configuration” tab, “Security Profile” option, “Services” section, “Properties”, enable “SSH Server”; see http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=200474... )
2)    Using SSH copy the SMIS VIB file to a location on the ESXi host (I used WinSCP).

Using an SSH remote terminal program, log into the ESXi Host using an administrator account (e.g. root) and install the  SMIS VIB.

Place the ESXi Host into Maintenance mode (Note: all running Guests must be shutdown (i.e. Stopped) or Suspended before the Host can be put into Maintenance mode).

# esxcli software vib install -v /vmfs/volumes/RAID-1/ESXiPatches/vmware-esx-provider-lsiprovider.vib --force
Installation Result
   Message: The update completed successfully, but the system needs to be rebooted for the changes to be effective.
   Reboot Required: true
   VIBs Installed: LSI_bootbank_lsiprovider_500.04.V0.32-0003
   VIBs Removed:
   VIBs Skipped:

Reboot the ESXI Host (e.g. enter “reboot”), then log in again using a SSH remote terminal.

Use the command "esxcli software vib list" to list the installed VIBs and verify that “lsiprovider” is listed (Note: the lsiprovider will not be listed until you have rebooted the ESXi Host).
The installation adds the "lsiprovider" as can be seen if you run "esxcli software vib list";

Name                           Version                             Vendor  Acceptance Level  Install Date
-----------------------------  ----------------------------------  ------  ----------------  ------------
lsiprovider                    500.04.V0.32-0003                   LSI     VMwareAccepted    2013-03-15

The VIBs for the RS2BL080 RAID card were also listed further down in the list;

When I attempted to connect to the RWC2 services running on the ESXi Host, I was able to discover the ESXi host in list of “Remote Servers”.

Sadly however, I am not able to log in.  When I selected the ESXi Host server in the list of Servers and then attempted to log in using the ESXi Host’s administrator account (e.g. root), the “RAID Web Console 2 - 12.08.03.02” log in attempt fails with “Login failed: Exception while login!

Does anyone know of possible resolutions for this issue, please....

It seems that this was previously and issue, but should have been fixed in RWC2 version 12.5.03, so I am guessing that the issue I am experiencing is different?
