Solved: ESXi 4.x does not recognize RAID 10 datastorage

Hi,

we have a RAID 10 datastore (4x SAS) on an IBM x3650M2 server but our VMWare ESX 4.xx server does not see this datastore.

Does anybody knows whats wrong there?

Does ESXi see the LUN on "Configuration / Storage adapters" page or you're trying to find "datastore"?

Does the machine have the ServeRAID-BR10i controller? As that should work. Is the LUN under 2TBs?

Hi,

the RAID 10 must be running on a sopported disk controller. Maybe yours isn't.

Here you can check the officially (or not) supported disk controllers :

(IO devices)

I dont know why but know I can see the storage in configuration. It works now.
