Interesting I haven't found dpvmotion mentioned in any of the 4.1 docs I have looked at. Even a search of VMWare's website and google come up blank.

dvfilter is vNetwork Appliance API, probably when it was developed, the shorthand was "dvfilter".

Regarding dpvmotion, my stab at it is probably distributed portgroup vMotion ...

I'm with Ferdis ...

In the ESXi Configuration Guide for version 4.1 ... page 62 states that VMotion is unavailable for virtual machines configured with VMDirectPath.

However with previous versions of ESX, they are know to throw things in that are officially unsupported. If this is the case and it is on the roadmap then that would eliminate my need for USB over IP.

Not bad but I still would like to know more.

So, if I am reading this right dpvmotion will allow the vMotion of VM's in a Microsoft cluster?  I will have to see it to believe it. haha
