ESXi 4.1 locking up - troubleshooting steps?

My ESXi 4.1 install seems to be locking up soon after a particular VM is tasked with moderate network and CPU loads. Symptoms are disappearance of all VMs from the network and complete lack of response from the console (although the display is still active). I can't find logs post reboot, but I was able to take a picture of the console log. Nothing significant seems to come up when googling the errors there.

My first instinct is hardware, but I'm not sure how to go about troubleshooting this sort of problem in VMware.

Are logs persistent across reboots? Do I need to set up remote syslog? What else can I do to track this down. This has happened 4 times in 5 days, so it's getting more than a tad annoying.

Lemme know what info you need from me and you'll have it.

You can use vm-support to have all the information you need to diagnost the server

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=101061...

check  /tmp  and /var/log/ and you will fin several logs that can help you.

Check for the vmkernel and messages logs for any hint on hardware failure?

An example KB:
