ESXi 4.1 auto reboot, and core dump show on console screen

Hi all expert,

I have experience these 2 days and the ESXi4.1 auto reboot 2 times.

also, one of the guest OS on 2nd Datastore (datastore2) also reboot

attach with the "/var/log/message" I capture, just wonder is the 2nd Hard Disk (Datastor2) problem or not.

Tonight I try to move all Guest OS from datastore2 to Datastore1, and check whether the root case is Hard Disk or not.

Did anyone have such experience?

Please help

what's the RAID level ?

it could be also caused by defective hardware (eg. bad sector in HDD, PSU or iSCSI cable).

Hi Albert,

in fact, that's not the production environment, just for my test and trial eval. system.

That's only 2 SATA harddisk with 2 datastores.

Today the ESXi4.1 also core dump, I attach the core dump screen shot here.

Anyone have this problem before?

If ESXi was installed to HD and was a fresh 4.1 install (not an upgrade from 4.0) then a copy of the vmkernel log file will be kept here - /scratch/log/messages. You might want to look through it to see if anything is logged prior to the PSOD.
