Hi there,
this is my first thread here and I am pretty new to ESXi and VMware. Have set up the server in the subject line with ESXi 4.1 (Essentials). The machine has 4 NICs embedded and an additional 4 port NIC card. The embedded NICs are assigned to VMs and running fine.
Meanwhile I have somehow managed to allow the 4 additional ports to pass through. I wonder how I can now assign them to a VM. Neither directly connected to the VM-Host with my vSphere client, nor with the vSphere client connected to my vCenter server (on another machine) I can assign them - they`re not in the list of available NICs.
Anybody having a good tip 4 me?
Thanx in advance, Dirk

John, thanks for your fast reply. It seems like this helped me. Still cant say exactly which of the 4 ports are assigned now. However, it shows me that a second NIC is up and running with the VM. Will find out more details as I click around in vSpehre. Thanks again for your help.
