ESXi 4.0 will not save static IP address for management network

Hi All

Has anyone come accross a problem whereby you cannot save the static IP settings for the management network? Ive tried all manner of settings and it just will not save, everything i enter it all in then Esc and Y to save it restarts the management network and reverts back to 0.0.0.0 for the IP, Subnet and DG.

arrgh, anyone know how to fix?

Do you have the same problem using the vSphere client or the vCLI? Anything in /var/log/messages when you make the change? Any problems saving other configuration changes?

This came up again when we did the update from 4.0 to 4.1, and rebooting the host several times didnt work in this case, so ended up resetting the config from the console so it came up as a blank new install and resetup everything at the console and it saved it. werid! :smileysilly:
