ESXi 4.0 - High Host CPU

Hi All,

I have a Dell Poweredge R610 [2 Intel Xeon Quad-Core CPU, 12GB RAM] with ESXi 4.0 as the host. The server has 4 VM's, all Windows Server 2008.

Over the pas week all servers have slowed down severly and becoming unresponsive during the day. The ESXi host appears to be eating up over 50% of the CPU and thus maxing out all the servers.

What is the best way to see or troubleshooting what is causing the CPU on the host to be so high?

Thanks,

Hi,

Try using ESXTOP command line tool. Have a look at the Resource Management Guide.

Good luck.
