Hello.
I am new to iSCSI usage on ESXi so I may have some question already answered. Sorry for that.
Is it right that ESXi 4.1 supports iSCSI offloading while ESXi 4.0 does not?
How to set it up properly? I have a Dell R510 with a Quadport Broadcom NetXtreme II 5709.
I like to use two network ports from the 5709 with LACP link aggregation to connect to my iSCSI target (QNAP).
I have found some posts regarding creating two vSwitches which each one network card and mapping the vSwitch (vmkx) to the vmhbaXX (esxcli swiscsi nic add -n vmk1 -d vmhba35).
Is this the right way? How to configure the link aggregation then?
This is how it looks like:
Thanks,
Michael
You need to have both vmnics under the same vswitch. The nic teaming options are at that level.
Hi.
Thank you for your answer. Yes, I needed to build one vSwitch instead of two. But I think that for iscsi it is better not use LACP. Use different ips for the Nics.
Thanks
Michael
