I have an Sunfire X4140 which was working perfectly with a Solaris, Linux and W2K8 guests. We powered it down in a controlled manner for some lab maintenance and now the system just exits the Flash boot cycle and freezes. I don't see any ESXi messages when looking at the ILOM console redirection.
I booted from the installation CDROM and 'repaired' it which completed fine, but no change. I've seen lots of discussion via google about BIOS versions, but we've never had an issue with the BIOS before.
We have seen this exact same behaviour on other system and ended up reinstalling ESXi and all the guests - that is not acceptable any more.
System is being evaluated for live deployment, so this is a show-stopper for ESXi.
