ESXI refuses to admit update

I ran the upgrade esxi 4.1 to 4.1 update 2 on a couple host running 4.1 build 348341  ..

one host shows build number is now 433742 but the other still shows build 348341.

i ran the update the same way on both and they both said updated ok. i used  CLI and ran

perl vihostupdate.pl –server 192.168.200.10 –username root –password ###### -i -b update-from-esx4.1-4.1_update02

Just to make sure it's no typo.

Did you install the bundle for ESX or for ESXi? The build number for ESXi Update02 should be 502767 after installing the bundle.

I will check.. there should be no reason i cannot take it from 4.1 build 348481 to the final build using the very last release. i do not have to take it up incrementaly ?

That's correct. There's no need for an incremental upgrade. The "Update XX" packages are cumulative upgrades.

Just make sure you use the ESXi package!
