ESXI 6.5 instalation problem

Hi

I am trying to install ESXI on a Mini Desktop which as a N3050 Intel processor.

And I get the "Relocating modules and starting up the kernel..." freeze at the end of the boot.

I see many post on the subject but all seem's to solve the problem with a Maj+O and the ignoreHeadless=TRUE parameter.

I try to :

- add the "ignoreHeadless=TRUE" at the end of the line when a type the "Maj+O"

- remove what was written and type "ignoreHeadless=TRUE"

but none of the try works.

I succeed to install ESXI on another computer without any problem.

I think on option of the bios is blocking.

But I don't see any "Headless" option in the bios.

What kind of option could block the ESXI instalation ?

Or have you another idee to pass this freeze ?

Many thanks

That's a Celeron-generation processor, and none of those are supported with ESXi. You're fighting an uphill battle with this one. Get some hardware that is at least remotely appropriate for ESXi and things will be much easier.

Thanks for reply

You mean my HW is not compatible with ESXI 6.5 or with all ESXI (even older one?)

Yes, it’s not supported.

Your hardware has never been and never will be compatible with ESX or ESXi. ESXi is a hypervisor designed to be run on server hardware. Mini desktops are fine for personal use but are ill suited as a hypervisor.

I am verry surprised because 4 year ago I have install ESXI on a Zotac that was much less powerfull as this current one, and it was neither a server :-).

And for hosting a Pfsense vm and a simple nas vm it was enought.

As the old HW is dead I was trying to change it...

But if it is impossible to run ESXI on a Celeron, to bad for me...

Have you another hypevisor name which had a chance to run on my hardware ?

Your chances of finding a type-1 hypervisor that runs well (or at all) on Celeron architecture is between slim and none. Keep in mind that even Zotac hardware with ESXi wasn't supported, and some didn't work at all. There are lots of small lab-type hardware that are capable of running ESXi (Shuttle, NUC, etc.), so check next time if that's your idea.
