ESXI 6.5 / 6.7 Versions and drivers needed to monitor RAID over LSI 9211

Hi All,

Looking to get Megaraid Storage Manager (likely to be running on a VM) to be able to properly point to its ESXI host with an LSI 9211-8i to monitor the health of the datastore RAID.

I'm not particularly experienced with all the OS and driver versions needed to get this particular setup working.

I'm open to using various versions of ESXI 6.5/6.7 depending on what will work.

Based on some reading, 6.5 U2 is the last version that supports MSM? I've spent quite a bit of time trying to look for resources and would appreciate people's experience on this one. :]

Many thanks!

Edit: I am also testing this with an older server at work, but am unable to get it running

ESXI 6.5 Update 2 Build 10719125

LSI MegaRaid 1115 (LSI 2008 also)

Installed already:

lsiprovider 500.04.V0.65-0002

lsi-mr3 7.702.51.00-1OEM.650.0.0.4598673
lsi-msgpt35 08.00.00.00-1OEM.650.0.0.4598673
lsi-msgpt3 17.00.00.00-1OEM.650.0.0.459867

Installed the MSM on my computer and added the private IP address of the server to my hosts file (no public IP for this machine)

10.1.1.50 oldserver.fakedomain.com

Firewall has been temporarily turned off:

esxcli network firewall set --enabled 0

Made the CIM Secure Server and the CIM Server start and stop with the host and both are running (attached to the service is sfcbd-watchdog).

I am using MSM 17.05.02.01 installed with the Complete option and "Key" set to 2048 (default) and trying "Display all the ESXi-CMOM servers in the network of the local server" but nothing pops up.

Pinging the local machine 10.1.1.50 via IP or via oldserver.fakedomain.com works

What else do I need to be doing?
