ESXI 5.1 or 5.5 won't boot after successfully instalation

Hi,

I've installed on  HP Proliant DL320e Gen8 ESXi Hypervisor 5.1 and try also with ver 5.5 today.

Successfully instalation in both cases.

In case thad HDD 1Tb is configured in BIOS as s-ata ahci, ESXi host is start running.

In case i set up RAID in BIOS and configure two HDD 1Tb in RAID 1, installation is also successfull, but no booting ESXI after install.

I think i try to add "formatwithmbr" when prompted.


I saw, that server under compatibility for both version ESXi 5.1 and 5.5,   ver bios : J05

Also have one more server HP proliant d360 Gen 8, everything working well with ESXI 5.1, HDD in RAID 1.

Any help please?

It's most likely the RAID controller in the DL320 model, which is not supported. I assume the DL360 host contains a supported P4xx controller!?

Hi,

That's right, this raid controller is not suported by default.

I've found a solution, directly on HP site. They offer a integrated driver in to ESXi image.

Everything worked fine for me today.
