ESXI 5.0 keeps rebooting from unknown reason

Hello,

I installed ESXi 5.0.0 on a USB Stick, after couple of weeks it started rebooting suddenly.

from viewing the logs, i can't see a pattern (every x dyas \ hours) but what i was able to find is that it's writing the following just before every restart:

(the restart occurred at 2012-12-26 11:51)

Can you help me to identify the problem?
p.s.
I'm adding few logs, maybe it will be helpful.

Welcome to the Community,

what type (vendor/model) of hardware do you use? Some system vendors - like HP - have "Automatic Server Recovery" (ASR) enabled by default. ASR will reboot the host in case is finds hardware issues (faults, temperature, ...) which might be resolvable with a reboot. In case you have such a hardware, check the system logs (ILO in case of HP) to see whether there's something in the log files.

Sorry, I' afraid I can't really help you with this.

Some thoughts though:

  • Since it worked before, I tend to think it could be a hardware related issue which ESXi can't trap. In case of HW issues like memory faults, ... ESXi normally stops and displays a PSOD (Purple Screen of Diagnostics), but does not automatically reboot.
  • What you may try is to see whether there's an updated BIOS available, to see if this helps.
