ESXI 5.0 Updates

I am thinking about patching/updating our ESXi 5.0 server.

There is the two major updates:

update-from-esxi5.0-5.0_update01

update-from-esxi5.0-5.0_update02

Does they contain all the minor patches likes:

ESXi500-201209001

ESXi500-201207001

And so on?

Update 2 contains the patches you mentioned. For a complete list of patch packages see Download Patches which lists the patches in the order they were released. The Update XX patches have always been complete patches which contained all previous patches.

Just to be 100% with you, if I install the "update-from-esxi5.0-5.0_update02" all the updates before are included in this update?

All the patches released before the ""update-from-esxi5.0-5.0_update02", will be included in this update.

Yes, "Update XX" packages are cumulative patches (kind of rollup packages).

As other have mentioned installing updated2 will bring the host to the latest build number with all missing patches
