ESXI 4

Im attempting to install ESXI 4.1.0 image on a supermicro mainboard model 8Xdtl and it gives me an error message during the install. "Unable to find a supported device to write the VMware ESXI 4.1.0 image to" I have a LSI SAS 1068E controller and raid 1 configured. Whats up.... Thanks for any help!

You server is not supported under the HCL. You could try installing to USB media.

I don't work with white boxes myself, but you should be able to find a lot of good hardware that's unnofficialy supported:

Check this out:

You don't need to replace the motherboard...all you need is a controller that ESXi supports. The vast majority of LSI and Adaptec are supported.
