ESXI 4.1 and MSA 2312sa

Hi Guys,

I'm installing two server DL 380 G7 with ESXI 4.1 that will connected to MSA 2312sa.

each server has two SAS adapeter with two ports ( LSI 1068E) , MSA has Two controlers A and B with Four SAS ports on each controler.

MSA hold 12 hard disks , 450 Go , I create on Vdisk and with fours volumes ( each volume will be a datastore).

I' m facing a problem, each time that I remove a datastore and also remove explicit mapping and create again, I CANNOT SEE THE STORAGE ADAPTER on ESXI only enclosure is visible.

another question , can I connect map two volume ( R/W) on one same SAS port (A1 for example)

Thank You

Hi.

I am planning to buy exactly the same configuration.

Do you have now any problem with this?

Did you need to buy SAS switch to get a shared storage or you just connect servers directly to MSA?

Thanks on any advice

You do not need any SAS switch (with less than 5 hosts).

Just use 2 SAS external controller (no RAID) for each hosts to connect to both controllers.
