ESX4i supports Cluster RHEL5 ?

I need know if a ESX 4 i supports create a virtual machine how cluster RHEL5 ?

If have a any PDF explain post a link too...

In doubt if you talk portuguese or spanish... so... Smiley Happy

The configuration should be the same, as the documentation does not shows any microsoft related configuration, only the VM configuration. I am pretty sure that there is no official documentation on RH clustering configuration, but if you will need shared storage, you can go with this one.

I don't know if it is officially supported, but if you want to cluster with shared storage between VMs you can follow the instructions on the MSCS manual: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40_u1/vsp_40_u1_mscs.pdf

OK Marcelo, me mandaste la documentacion de Microsoft Cluster para las machines virtuales, pero necesito alguna documentacion que dice que el rhel5 tiene suporte para hacer cluster.

Voy a llamar a la VMware Brasil para averiguar se tienem alguna novedad.

Decime una coza, se puede hacer un MSCS2008 con RDM en las dos machines virtuales ? Yo se que para eso tine que estar en physical compatibility.

VMware does not officially list RHEL as supported cluster. There is also no built-in fencing mechanism for Redhat cluster through VMware. You will have to use fencing script from either a beta branch of RedHat 5.x, or custom-write your own fencing method.

Also, the generic Microsoft documentation will setup the barebones config. Unless you are trying to simulate the cluster on one server alone, you will also need to make sure that multicast is supported/ configured statically on your networking equipment.
