ESX4i 4.1.0 348481 CRASH

Dear members,

I have a VMware ESX4i Server, version 4.1.0 348481 that crashes when virtual machines are loaded.

I've updated the ESX4i Server to version 502767 but still the ESX4i Server crashes.

I am now trying to copy the virtual machine files to my local PC (back-up) but only 1 copy of an virtual machine succeeded.

I get a new error message, see ScreenHunter_01 Nov. 15 08.38.jpg.

What is going wrong and how can I solve this problem?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Hi

Most of the PSOD are caused by hardware problems. Get some linux live CD, boot server from it and run memory test for several hours

tested with memtest, no errors!

Are you able to share the hardware being used? Recently there has been a lot of PSOD's with specific hardware and the updates being applied to it. That would help get you a more clear answer. The other post is a good place to start (doing the mem test, etc..), and would probably get you back on track.....good luck!

But that's the strange part, I did not update the hardware or applied vmware updates to the vmware Esx4i Server.

The Server did not have any problems for 1,5 years and now suddenly it crahes!

Unfortunately the ESX Server is not on the HCL list.

I think it's the hardware, and there is no solution, so far I know!

ESX4i Server did run without any errors with 1 virtual machine started.

When I started virtual machine number 2, the debugger reported the following message: "Spin Count Exceeded - Possible Deadlock".

Processor doens't have Virtualization Technology .

I think there is only 1 solution, new Server with Virtualization Technology .
