ESX4 VM

I'm just created a virtual machine of an ESX4 host on an ESX4 host.

I've got the service console IP configured, and I verified that it was uplinked to vmnic0,

but i'm still not able to ping it. Has anyone tried this yet? Is there anything additional

configuration that needs to be done when trying to make a vm of ESX?

Thanks,

Scott

Set vswitch that it is attached too to have promiscuous mode enabled.

Thank you for your quick response. Do you know how to do this at the CLI since I don't have

access to it over the network?

Thanks,

Scott

Oops. This is gettting confusing. I thought you meant the vm host. I just set the vswitch to promiscuous mode on the host host

and it's working. Thanks a lot Lightbulb.

Just to confirm that suggestion on putting the vSwitch on promiscuous mode worked for me too.
