ESX Licensing

needs a quote for VMware ESX licensing 3 old Lenovo dual processor hosts.  Usually these are licensed by core, if i remember correctly. Each server has 2 processors with 10 cores per processor.  That would be a total of 20 cores per server or 60 cores of VMware ESX that can any one guide me how much license we need to purchase ?

Do you need vSphere 7 License?
In that case, you can calculate the value with the following formula.

License cont = Round up (Core per CPU / 32) * Number of CPUs * Number of Hosts

If you want to calculate in Excel, use the following formula.

=roundup(Core per CPU / 32,0) * Number of CPUs * Number of Hosts

With the values you provided, it would look like this:

=roundup(10 / 32,0) * 2 * 3

The number of licenses you need is 6.
Up to 32 cores is one license, but if the host and CPU are separated, the license will be separated it.
So, if you have 3 hosts with 20 core single CPU, the number of licenses will be 3.
