We are interested in using the Tyan S2912-E motherboard with VMWare ESX
/ ESXi, but we did not see it in the supported motherboard list.
Is
it possible that VMWare ESX / ESXi would work with the S2912-E? Also,
on the supported motherboard list, we found the Tyan 25915-E. We
believe that this is a typo, and that you meant to list the Tyan
S2915-E (right?)
Another question: does anyone know if VMWare ESX / ESXi works with coreboot BIOS?
It is possible that mother board might work with ESX/ESXi but if it is not supported i would expect if any of the onboard devices like NICs and drive controller will work - check out vm-help.com - it is a great source for getting whitebox hardware to work with VMware -
In regards to coreboot BIOS I do not see why it should not work but it will fall into the non-supported category -
