ESX 5i : No Network Adapters: sky2 : HP ProBook 6555b

Hi all,

I'm trying to install ESXi5 on my laptop.

The install fails at the No Network Adaptor stage..

Alt-F1 brings me to the login.

Normally, for this laptop, the GB interface is supported with the sky2 driver delivered with the installer.

the driver is located at /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/sky2

in my lspci, I see it as 11ab:4381, but the /etc/vmware/driver.map.d/sky2.map doesn't have this model in its list.

Question is, how can I modify the sky2.map to include my device because the filesystem is readonly.

Is there not a way I can associate the device to the driver via a command line and then procede with the install of ESXi.

Thanks for looking.
