Did anyone test ESX 4 and Netapp Metrocluster 3140 take over ?
In this test we build a vm , run iometer with 180 MB/s and then simulate a filer head crash on filer 1.
What we see is, that the move from filer head one to filer head two did not happen.
We tried with Alua and without.
Netapp commands:
Good Info's about persistant path and netapp
Hi,
what means simulate a filer head crash exactly? Powering off the 3140 head only or powering of a complete site (head and shelfs?).
Can you access the "proxy" pathes in normal cluster operation mode?
You can monitor the i/O to the luns via lun stats -i 1 -o on the filer console. (in takeover mode you have to change to filer1 instance via the partner command)
Best regards
Daniel
Fixed. No vmware problem. netapp configuration was not right.
There were three LUN presented to the clujster of two esx host. one of this lun's was not present to the second filer.
