ESX 4 No Memory CPU Hotplug ??

Hello Outthere,

i´m a New vsphere user installed everything on 4 HP G6 Server (Enterprice edition)

Works unbelievable. but i woundered because i have no Settings for Memory/CPU Hotplug under a created virtual machine (Windows 2003 R2)

i converted the machines with the converter.

i have 4 registered vSphere Enterprice servers and a registered vCenter Server 4 Standard.

did i forgot something ?:|

at my created windows 2008 server i have the feature :smileygrin:

whats going wrong ?:|

VMware stated that HotAdd is available for Windows 2003 Enterprise only. And that's not VMware's limitation, it's Windows limitation.

Virtual Machine should be hardware version 7, and you need to enable Memory HotAdd in VM settings.

all of my Machines are Hardware Version 7. Must be the Problem with the different Windows Server Versions Standard/Enterprice.

@all

I´m wondering. @every utube video, emc, hypervizor, etc. they show us the feature. nobody tells us that the feature is only enable @enterprice servers :smileyshocked:

maybe theres a patch some day and the hot feature will rock
