ESX 4 Configuration Changes Reset After Reboot

I am setting up a new esx server and whenever i reboot it, it resets all my configuration changes I made.

Anyone seen this before? I can't seem to find a solution.

Is a ESX 4.0 or ESXi 4.0?

Which kind of configuration do you loose?

have you checked for any run control scripts that must be running after each reboot that must be re-initalizing all the settings that have been done ?

/etc/rc.local or a customized script in /etc/rc3.d dir.

There were no scripts running that I could see.

I ended up just reloading it and the server now keeps its settings upon reboot. Weird issue.

ESX is patched or is the "clean" version form CD?

Clean fresh install. Same build as previous.

I suggest to apply the ESX patch (there is a big problem on some RAID controller, and in some case you can loose your data).

BTW, if you create a local dir or a new file you loose also those objects?
