ESX 4.0 installation

Hi to all in virtual World,

I just stepped into the world of virtualization and was stuck in the first step....i would be thankfull if u guys can help me out in this journey of learning.

My organization is planning to install ESX 4.0 version.The hardware is not yet arrived,so i was just asked to try installing the tral version in spare server already available.

I have a AMD opetron server with following specs,but when i check the AMD wiki i found that this series dosenot support AMD-V (virtualization) feature,C\n i still try to install the ESX Host and Vcenter on these servers?

Specs are as below,

i would advise to install the latest version 4.1 and that one ESXi as ESX does not has new update thereafter.  On top of that it's not only CPU compatibility that you need to check, it's advisable to check thru' the vmware compatibility list to ensure the whole system is ready for VMware vSphere. Thanx for ur valuable suggestion ...i did look for other compatibility issues and seems like it match the requirement.

Dose anyone have material to learn about the VLAN configuration during ESX 4.0 installation.
