ESX 4.0 --To create a datastore is SCSI-2 reservations a requirement

I  am trying to certify ESX4.0 U2 on a SAN that only supports SCSI-3(persistent reservations). Is there a way I can create a datastore without adding SCSI-2 Reservations capabality to the SAN.

Thanks,

Salman Raza

I know I saw a recent post about it. I will see if I can find it.

Thanks David.

Are you suggesting that there is a Vmware document that talks about the requirement.

ESX(i) arbitrates access to shared  LUNs using SCSI-2 reservations so I don't know how you are going to satisfy your requirement. I would use VMware support to get clarification.

SCSI2 Reservations are a hard requirement.  Without them, you are out of luck.
