Dual port Intel fast ethernet lost after upgrade from ESXi 3.5 to 4.0

Hi Guys

Wonder if anyone can help, I have been running ESXi 3.5 for about a year on my home server and in a moment of madness I decided to upgrade.. after re-adding the storage and recovering all my VMs I was relatively happy.. however I have two nic in my box one is an intel pro 1000 and that is working fine.. the other is a dual port Intel Corporation 82559 Fast Ethernet card which delivers cable and adsl to my home LAN..

ESXi can see the card but is not loading the drivers.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid you are probably going to be out of luck, support for the Intel E100 Fast Ethernet adapters were dropped for this release.

I'm fairly certain that if you reinstall 3.5 on the box that you'll find that it was using that E100 driver for this NIC.

Regards,

Iain

Thanks for that mcwill, not the answer I was hoping for but I can move forward from here..

While I have your attention can you recommend a PCI 10/100 nic that is supported preferably dual port?

Your best bet from both a price & compatibility view would be anything E1000 based, yes I realise you don't require gigabit, but I'm note aware of any supported fast ethernet adapters.

As mentioned the safe bet as an Intel e1000 card like the pro /1000 GT
