Domain Controllers and Independent Disks

Hi guys. I have recently put some Windows 2012 R2 Domain Controllers onto my ESXi 5.1 U1 infrastructure. As I was concerned that other admins might snapshot these VMs for one reason or another, I changed all their disks to be Independent Persistent. Just wondering if this is best practice for DCs on ESXi pre-ESXi 6? I know that ESXi 5 U2 seems to be DC aware and can create DC consistent snapshots that don't affect the USN rollbacks for DCs etc.

I think, you should uncheck independent mode.

Thanks for the link. I have read the document thoroughly but don't see a compelling argument for snapshotting myv DCs. As suc, I will stick with the disk mode of independent persistent Smiley Happy
