Does the KB "1005441" Applicable for ESX/ESXI 4.x and 5.x ?

Hi All,

The following KB is applicable when we use Sun Storage 25xx and 6xxx with LINUX as host type. This basically Disable the AVT.

Configuring Sun StorageTek disk arrays 6540, 6140, 2540, FLX380, FLX280 and FLX240 to work with VMwa...

My question is ,

1.Does this KB applicable on ESX/ESXi 4.x and 5.x?(The KB talks only about 3.x version.)

2.Does it applicable on Arrays like 6780/6580 and 6180?

Appreciate your help on this.

Thank you.

Sunil

Have you check the vmware compatibility matrix for the supported SAN with vSphere version

Yes the h/w is shown as as supported on 4.x and 5.x. But the listed f/w is not supported on these Arrays.

I hope you are looking for commands as mentioned in this KB.

I think KB clearly says "The instructions in this article are specific to ESX/ESXi 3.5. For commands to use with other versions of ESX/ESXi, contact Sun/Oracle support".

For array support you can check compatibility guide.
