Does ESXi 6 support TCP/IP over Thunderbolt?

I'm interested in using the Thunderbolt ports on some Mac ESXi hosts for connection to a NAS since I can get 10 or 20GB (Thunderbolt 1 or 2) without having to use a Thunderbolt-PCIe chassis to add 10Gbit NICs to the macs.  QNAP actually has a Thunderbolt 2/10Gbe NAS that would be a pretty cool iSCSI datastore if ESXi 6 will use it as a NIC.

Hi there,

VMware don't test against it for the HCL so it won't be officially supported, however research in the community indicates some success.

Check out this article from William Lam for some pointers...

Hope this helps.
