If the datastore is from a NAS, FC mapped to both servers, iSCSI LUNS mapped to both servers, then yes.

You cannot share the local datastores of 2 ESXi hosts.

Also, if you could provide more details on your query, it would also be very helpful to get the right direction

Actually you cant share the local datastores of two esxi hosts.

But given your case of having two ESXi hosts in same workstation, you do have to option to use an openfiler like application to present iSCSI luns to the 2 ESXi hosts. Prior to that you have enable software iscsi on the ESXi hosts and this link would help you from there

Install and configure Openfiler for ESXi shared storage with NFS and iSCSI | VMwarebits.com

Or have a NAS share created on a openfiler/rhel vm and share them as NAS datastores.

But you cant have the local datastores of two esxi servers shared at least in 5.1.

I  added a physicaldrive in vmware workstation for two Esxi 5.1.The two Esxi 5.1 can detect the same physicaldriver for datastore.

Pls advise.
