Do currently running VMs stop working after 60day trial ends, without license key?

Hi Everyone,

We have our software running on two VMs installed on ESXi 5.0 at a client site. We don't have remote access to esxi so we need to be on-site to enter the license key. My question is "do VMs that are currently running get shut down when the trial ends, if we haven't put in the license key?".

If so I need to add the key ASAP. Otherwise I don't need to tell the client that this is an emergency and can do it even a few days later.

Many thanks in advance.

Sam

The VMs will keep running.  You wouldn't be able to power on a VM.

Without a valid license or an expired evaluation license the VM's should remain powered on. However, in case they are powered of you won't be able to power them on again and some of the features in the vSphere Client may not be accessible.
