Disk usage not syncd

Please see attached image.

Why does my disk configuration on the left not match what is shown to be used on the right?

This is happening to multiple VMs.

Sorry I only use ESXi for It's functionality I'm not a VM engineer or anything like that.

On the left you see the "nominal size" which is 750GB. This value is referenced in the vmdk-descriptorfile and is the size that the guestOS sees.
Do you think this should show the same value as the 65 gb on the right side ?
IMHO that would be completely misguiding and would make troubleshooting way harder than it is.
