Disk Drive Bay 3 RomB Battery 0: Failed Alert!

I keep gettin an alert on the battery sensor in vSphere ESXi 5.5. It will give me a red Alert icon for about 10-20 minutes then go back to normal. and does this randomly throughout the day. I have changed the RAID controller battery and this didn't help. Also the system event log fills up in about 2-3 hours with Deassert and Assert Batther Failed logs.

I've attached photos. I'll attach an updated one the next time it fails.

What's going on here?

Oh yea. This is a DELL PowerEdge r710 server.

Hi,

You should contact Dell as that seems to be hardware related. I understand you replaced the RAID card battery but for some reason the sensors are still saying its failed.

Do you have iDrac by chance? Perhaps you can view the health there. You may need to check things like BIOS version and other Firmware updates to see if there is a fix for this on Dells website.
