Good Morning and thanks for any guidance y'all might provide.
Issue: vCenter 6u2 Appliance loses connectivity to two out of three hosts. In looking through multiple KB articles, I've tried multiple fixes. I even went through a complete rebuild. ( This is my home lab. I am an instructor and need the lab for research and this really applies to this incident! ) I installed 6u2 to all three hosts. deployed the vCenter Appliance (6u2). Connected to the hosts and had about 24 hours of solid connectivity. Then -- NOT.
The hosts are HP 380 DL servers with 32 GB Ram on each. Two physical NICs, one connected to a StorCenter NAS from a vSS, with the other NIC on the vDS with Mgmt, vMotion, and VXLAN configured.
The hosts have these VMs: VCVA, NSX Mgr & Controller Cluster, vRO single unit, vSphere Replication on a single site, a Windows 2012 "controlcenter" that runs DNS and DHCP, and four Window2012 test machines (currently powered down). All these machines are performing well. ESXTOP is showing me nothing out of the ordinary (although I've still much to learn about that tool). All machines are, as I say, up and running.
The last thing I did before turning in last night was to try to restart the management agents on one of the "not responding" hosts. It took nearly 10 minutes for the DCUI to respond to the F2 command ( password entered rather quickly, but the management screen took the time mentioned ). This morning the DCUI is still "Stopping management agents..." If this was the first time I'd been through this, I wouldn't be posting this. I am hoping one of you has been through a similar situation in the past and might have some guidance for me.
Thanks, again.
